Methocel problem

In the Modernist Ingredients and Equipment Forum

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and I have to say, It is a fantastic site so well done to everyone that has contributed.
Anyway, I have bought a 100 gram tub of methocel (I don't know what kind of methocel it is). It just says Methocel and it says Methylcellulose underneath.
The problem is every time I use it, i can taste the methocel and its disgusting.
I have tried reducing the liquid that i use and making the flavour stronger but it didn't work.
How can I stop it from happening?
